As an athlete, how do you respond to your greatest accomplishment? A look of appreciation for the opportunity or a raspberry to your competitors?
As a coach, do you stand on the top of the mountain and tell the world that your player won? You want to celebrate but you also don’t want to come across as a self-promoting jerk!
Sooooo how do we navigate this in the modern social media-driven World?
Look...Brooke Henderson just won her 1st LPGA major at 18 years old!
This is massive!
Is it wrong for me to celebrate that? Did I drop the 90ft putt?
NO!
Did I hit the shots or close out the playoff with the World watching?
NO!
Have I worked with Brooke over the last 2 years?
NO!
Am I proud of the 4 years that I was fortunate to have the opportunity to work with such an amazing athlete and work with all the coaches and IST for the Canadian National Team? YESSSSS!!!!!!
